RATIO OF TRAINERS TO TRAINEES

Normally a maximum ratio of 1:4.

 

INTRODUCTION

The course is designed to provide:

  • The ability to select Rope Access for appropriate situations.
  • The knowledge to identify how other access methods can be used in relation to Rope Access and how to select the most appropriate technique.
  • The knowledge required to maintain a Search Team SARA Capability.
  • The knowledge required to operate a SARA Team in an operational environment.
  • The skills required to supervise and perform rescues in areas/situations where Search Teams are most commonly tasked to operate.
  • Officers will be able to supervise the inspection, care and maintenance of all the associated equipment required for the techniques.

To be capable of carrying out:

  • Operational Risk Assessment
  • Operational Safety Method Statement
  • Operational Despatch Procedure
