Mechanical Fall Arrest and Recovery Devices
Mechanical fall arrest devices are safety lines that pay out and retract as the user demands.
They are available in cable or webbing versions, in a large variety of lengths, but all work on the same principle. In the event of a fall the device reacts quickly, arresting the user and ensuring they do not receive a high impact force.
Due to their design these devices can be a good choice when working in areas with low clearance heights. The fall arrest and recovery devices include a winching facility that can be utilised in the event of a fall.
This allows the user to be raised of lowered to a point of safety. This facility is not to be used for routinely raising or lowering personnel.
